On the European Odyssey:
  • YOU will be looked after by carefully selected, well educated and well traveled tour director (TD) for the duration of the tour.
  • All of our tour directors are multi-lingual Europeans and have a great understanding of the cities and countries you are going to.
  • We have both male and female tour directors who have very different experiences prior to working for Orion.
What a TD does What a TD doesn't do
  1. Your TD will make sure that you get to see every city and country in the itinerary and that you receive every inclusion, i.e. accommodation, meals, city tours, transportation etc.
  2. Your TD will give you general information on the cities and countries you are visiting, e.g. quick language tips when entering new language areas.
  3. Your TD will assist with providing general hints of fun nightlife and free time activities, assisting you in how to get to your must see European sites.
  4. Your TD will assist in checking you into each of our hotel properties and making your stay as comfortable as possible.
  5. Your TD will assist in providing you access to fun optional excursions suggested by Orion.
  6. Your TD will work with Orion to assist you and the group in emergency situations.
  1. A TD is not your personal travel agent. If you want to travel on your own after the tour, you will need to consult a licensed travel agent.
  2. If you need assistance over and above the normal role of a TD, any costs incurred will be borne by you and not the TD.
  3. A TD does not give in-depth information about each city traveled on the tour - that is the role of the City Guides that are provided for you.
Amin Karl Gabi
Amin

Amin is from Vienna, Austria and is a successful businessman in his own right. He is a trained lawyer achieving his PHD in 1998. Amin has guided tours all through Western and Eastern Europe for Orion Worldwide Travel and has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the area. As a member of the famous Vienna Boys Choir when younger, Amin has been able to see the world from a your age. His interests other than travel of course, are basketball, fitness, music and languages.
Karl

Karl is an Austrian national who has been Tour Directing in Europe since 1989 for CHA, Kuoni and Globus. He has many diverse interests from skiing to bungi jumping and has worked in the marketing and sales field for many years. Karl enjoys musicals and theatre and helped assist in a production company that brought Broadway shows into Austria. He has lived in Brazil for a time and speaks German, English, Portuguese, Italian, French and Spanish. Karl has been a leading guide for Orion Worldwide Travel for the last few years.
Gabi

Gabi is one of our specialized city guides. She will meet us in the picturesque town of Salzburg, where she has been a resident for over 20 years. Gabi will lead us through Salzburg and give insights into this Austrian town made famous by being the birthplace of Wolfgang Mozart and the setting for the Sound of Music movie! Like all our city guides, Gabi is a licensed expert in the history and culture of her home city and will give you an in-depth understanding of it.
